While competing for Iowa State University, Les Anderson won two NCAA titles in 1958 and 1960 and placed second in 1959. He then became the top assistant at Iowa State University under Dr. Harold Nichols and later Jim Gibbons, helping lead the Cyclones to six NCAA titles. Anderson was also the head coach at Washington before the school dropped wrestling.

“On the Mat” is a weekly wrestling radio program that airs every Wednesday night. The broadcast can be heard live from 6-7 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum in Waterloo, Iowa, hosts the show.
