Museum executive director Mike Chapman makes his opening remarks prior to the 2007 Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa induction ceremony. The 2007 induction was the first held in the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum.
Glen Brand, namesake of the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa, receives an ovation prior to the 2007 induction ceremony. Brand won a gold medal at the 1948 Olympics in London.
Bobby Douglas, a 2003 member of the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa, introduced 2007 inductee Simon Roberts.
In 1956, the University of Iowa's Simon Roberts became the first black wrestler to win an NCAA title. He was also the first black wrestler to win an individual Iowa high school state wrestling title.
Al Baxter was a legendary coach at Lisbon High School and Beuna Vista College. During his nine years at Lisbon his teams won five traditional state team titles.
The voice of college wrestling. Tim Johnson has commentated over 150 television broadcasts for IPTV, ESPN, and the Big Ten Network.
Kristin Gilpatrick introduced Don Parker. Gilpatrick served as Parker's team manager at Wisconsin-Eau Claire from 1986-1990
Don Parker was a two-time Division II NCAA champion for Northern Iowa. He currently serves as the head wrestling coach at Wisconsin-Eau Claire
Gene Lybbert won an NCAA title for Iowa State Teachers College in 1952 and coached Blue Earth High School in Minnesota to three consecutive state team titles.
Frank Santana was an NCAA champion for Iowa State in 1977. He was also a three-time finalist and a two-time Big Eight champion.
Prior to playing 10 years of professional football for the Winnipeg Bluebombers, Sherwyn Thorson was an NCAA wrestling champion for the University of Iowa in 1962

“On the Mat” is a weekly wrestling radio program that airs every Wednesday night. The broadcast can be heard live from 6-7 p.m. Central Standard Time. The Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum in Waterloo, Iowa, hosts the show.
