Mike Natvig, a native of Decorah, was a two-time NCAA champion for Army in 1962 & '63. He is considered to be the greatest wrestler in the history of West Point.
Chuck Patten coached Northern Iowa to two NCAA Division II titles during his 18 year tenure as the Panthers head coach.
Dan Mashek started the Gilbertville Don Bosco wrestling program and accumulated the most coaching dual meet wins (519) of any coach in Iowa history
Duane Goldman was an NCAA champion for the University of Iowa and one of three four-time finalists in the history of the program.
Tim Kreiger was a three-time state champion for Mason City and a two-time NCAA champion for Iowa State University. His 116-3-2 career college record is one of the best in school history.
Mike Van Arsdale was a state champion for West Waterloo and an NCAA champion for Iowa State University. He was also highly-successful competitor in mixed martial arts competition.
